Ramy Lawandy took fifth singles for the Highlanders, scoring a 6-1, 7-6 (6) win.

NJIT, which finished 10-10 in its first season of Division I competition in 2006-07, has three matches to improve on that total this season, starting with a match at Wagner on Staten Island, NY, on Thursday at 3 pm.
