Women's Tennis Sweeps Saint Francis (NY), 7-0

TENAFLY, NJ - The NJIT women's tennis team raised its season record to 10-3 with an impressive 7-0 win over visiting Saint Francis (NY) Saturday night in the Tenafly Racquet Club.

The Highlanders, who are in their second season of competition at the NCAA Division I level, have won three of their last four matches, including Saturday's defeat of Saint Francis.

NJIT took all five contested singles matches and another two in the doubles competition.

The Highlanders won the first five singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores with Iulia Doci (#1), Fanny Aizier (#2), Grace Bogdan (#3), Dasa Stanimirovic (#4) and Isha Toor (#5) all blanking their Saint Francis opponents.

Toor and Stanimirovic were winners at first doubles, with an 8-0 victory while Chiori Koike and Fatima Kasem picked up another win at second doubles with the identical score.

The Highlanders will return to action on Tuesday, March 17, when they face St. Thomas (FL) at 2pm.
